IT’S A SEUSSICAL BIRTHDAY

Approximately 200 children and their parents enjoyed celebrating Dr. Seuss's birthday on Sunday afternoon February 28 at the Library. Fun-filled activities included "Hop on Pop," "Red Fish, Blue Fish," and "Wocket in my pocket." Participants also created Yertle the Turtles, Daisy-head Mayzie headbands, and Dr. Seuss' necklaces. What a fun time for everyone!

CALLING ALL POETS

The Patrons of the Minot Public Library will sponsor the annual Dallas Gillmore Poetry Writing Contest for children grades 2-5. 

Any type of poetry may be submitted. Prizes of $25, $15, and $10 will be awarded to the winners in grade 2, 3, 4, and 5. Winners from each grade level (2-5) will be asked to read their poems at the annual meeting of the Patrons of the Minot Public Library which will be held on Saturday, April 17th at 2:00 P M. in the North Community Room. The deadline for poetry submissions will be Thursday, April 1st at 9:00 PM.

All entries must have the student's name, grade, school and teacher written clearly on the BACK of the entry. DO NOT put this information on the front. Failure to include this information on the back will result in disqualification.

WALMART MAKES DONATION TO CHILDREN’S LIBRARY

Recently the Children’s Library was the recipient of a $1000 donation from Walmart. Twice a year Walmart donates money back into the community. This past year they have donated nearly $50,000 to our community for worthwhile projects. Thank you, Walmart.
