About Us/Services Interlibrary Loan
Interlibrary loan (ILL) is a service offered to Minot Public Library (MPL) cardholders. It provides access to resources from many libraries across the United States and greatly expands the range of library materials available to MPL patrons. How it works1. Check our catalog to see if MPL owns the material you need. 2. If we do not own the particular material you need, request to borrow it through ILL at one of our public service desks or by calling (701) 852-1045. 3. It will take approximately 2 to 3 weeks for the item to arrive at MPL. When it does, you will be notified. 4. Although it can vary depending on the materials, most ILL items can be borrowed for three weeks at a time, but lending periods are determined by the lending library. If renewals are possible, they must be requested 2 days in advance of the due date. 5. Return the item to the Minot Public Library by the due date. A late fee of $0.25 will be charged each day the item is overdue. What are the borrowing terms?Customers may request up to 10 items at a time. Length of borrowing time is generally 3 weeks but at the discretion of the lending library. Renewals must be requested at least 2 days before the item is due and are also at the discretion of the lending library. Most library materials are available with the exception of rare books, genealogical and reference materials, and current best sellers. CHARGES:
