Tool Donations Being Accepted

Posted by MPLadult on January 15, 2018

Tool_Library_Logos.pngStaff at the Minot Public Library, along with the AmeriCorps VISTAs are working hard to get our Tool Library open this winter, but we need YOUR help! Donations are still being sought so that we can fill the inventory. Please consider donating some of your gently used tools or even purchasing new tools for the Tool Library! You can view our wishlist here to see what type of tools we are still hoping to get.

Tools can be brought to the Library during regular business hours. If you'd like a staff member to meet you at the garage, please call 852-1045 when you arrive and someone will come help you.

Please note: once tools are available to check out, you will need to have had a library card for 90 days so make sure you have yours!

What is a "Tool Library?"

Just as you would come to our library to check out a book or a movie, the Minot Tool Library will loan a variety of gardening, landscaping and home improvement tools that have all been donated to us or bought with grant dollars.

Why start a Tool Library?

This free service recirculates idle tools into the hands of residents who may not be able to afford them. Not only does this give the tools a second life, but it also helps develop a more resilient community by improving our ability to recover from a disaster. The Tool Library will give all Minot residents, regardless of income, the opportunity to feel the satisfaction of finishing a home repair project or of starting a new hobby without having to make a financial investment in the necessary tools.

How can you help?

Donate tools you are no longer using (or brand new tools!) to the Minot Public Library.
