Reference Desk
A librarian is on duty at the reference desk all hours that the library is open, to provide assistance. Whether it's a school assignment, information needed for your job or a question that's been "nagging" at you all day, we're here to help. Phone in reference service is available by calling (701)852-1045 or sending an email to Minot Public LibraryIn addition to the print sources (encyclopedias, almanac, directories, etc.), MPL reference service also uses CD-Roms, Online databases, and the Internet to help you find the information you need.
Databases available remotely (in your home, office, or away from the Library) are listed in Research Tools. Databases which are available only at the Library include:
AncestryPlus-online family history database
Baker and Taylor-lists over 3 million books, videos, recordings available from publishers
Foundation Grants-provides information on grants for nonprofit organizations
Mitchell Manuals-master manual for domestic and imported automobiles and trucks from 1983 to 1995
