Teen Advisory Group Meeting
The Minot Public Library is forming a Teen Advisory Group (TAG) and we need enthusiastic and motivated teens to join. What does a TAG do? This group will help plan teen events and programs, give suggestions on what books, music, and electronic resources the library should buy, help design the teen webpage, and help enhance the teen area. We just received a $34,000 grant from the Otto Bremer Foundation to start a teen services program. Now all we need is your participation and advice. Joining the TAG a great opportunity to meet new friends who share an interest in reading and to earn community service hours. Service hours qualify for National Honor Society, confirmation, and scholarship applications. They also look great on a college application.
The first meeting/pizza party is scheduled for March 10th, from 4 – 5 PM in the South Community Room (on the lower level of the library). During this meeting we will talk about our goals, brainstorm ideas for summer programs, share conversation, and eat pizza. You are welcome to bring a friend with you. I need to know how much pizza to buy so please let me know if you plan to attend by calling the library or sending me an email by March 7th. If you can not make it on March 10th but would like to join the Teen Advisory Group, then contact me at my email address (kmurtha@srt.com) or call the library (852-1045).
I look forward to meeting you and hearing your ideas.
Cheers,
Katie Murtha
