Detailed Information
Services Provided

Pregnancy, Parenting, and Adoption Services (PPAS): Our social workers meet with women and men experiencing an unintended pregnancy, offering them education and support including parenting resources and adoption information. Social workers also work with families interested in adoption, offering options to adopt within North Dakota, from out of state, and internationally.

Adopted adults, birth parents, and biological siblings can initiate a search to request communication with one another. Many clients search to answer questions, to get updated medical information, or to reconnect with their birth family.

Adults Adopting Special Kids (AASK): The AASK program is a collaboration between Catholic Charities North Dakota and Path ND, Inc. AASK finds permanent homes and stable families for children in foster care in the State of North Dakota child welfare system. There are more than 2,000 children in foster care in North Dakota. The parents are unable to care for their children and so the state becomes custodian. Many of these children placed in foster care have experienced trauma. Adoption workers help these kids to find adoptive forever families so they can have the opportunity for a home life that every child deserves, and help overcome the challenges life has handed them.

Guardianship Services: Our professional staff serve as court-appointed guardians for adults with intellectual disabilities to ensure they have an appropriate place to live, receive proper medical attention and obtain necessary support services. We are accountable to the courts, and our goal is to assist each person in being as independent and autonomous as possible while minimizing the risk of abuse, neglect and exploitation.

Counseling Services: Our clinical therapists are licensed professionals who work with individuals, couples and families on relationship issues, stress, anger management, and anxiety or depression. Our clients may receive as few or as many sessions as needed. Our licensed professionals offer healing and help in Fargo, Bismarck, Dickinson, New England, Grand Forks, Langdon, Wahpeton, and surrounding communities. We accept insurance and employee assistance programs. As a charity we even offer a sliding fee scale so we do not have to turn anyone away.
