Services Provided

Optimal Pregnancy Outcome Program (OPOP): A primary prevention program designed to help pregnant women make informed, healthy lifestyle choices for healthy babies. To be enrolled in this program, the woman must be under the care of a physician. Nursing, social and nutritional services are provided in addition to care received from their regular doctor.

High Priority Infant (HPI): Screening, monitoring, follow-along and support for infants and families.

Children and Youth (C&Y): Comprehensive health screening program for children up to seven years of age.

North Dakota Health Tracks, EPSDT: Health assessment covering developmental, mental, speech, eyes, ears, dental, physical, nutrition, laboratory tests and immunizations for individuals under 21 years of age and fully eligible for Medicaid.

Women, Infants and children (WIC): Supplemental food and nutrition education program for qualifying women, infants, and children.

Educational programs are provided for adults on the proper use of child car seats. Child car seats are available for rent.

Immunizations: provided for children include: DPT, Polio, Measles-Mumps-Rubella (MMR), Hepatitis B, Chicken Pox, Haemophilus b, and others.

Immunizations provided for adults include: influenza, MMR and Tetanus Diphtheria.

Tobacco Control Program- To improve and protect the public health by reducing the dire health and economic consequences of tobacco use. Restricting the marketing of tobacco to youth and helping establish tobacco-free as the social norm through education, and media and policy advocacy efforts.

Family Planning- Women’s health care including education, counseling, physical exams, and methods of birth control. Pregnancy testing and counseling services available.

Adult Health Promotion- clinics for care and assessment of feet, screening for hypertension, diabetes and others.

Community wellness education programs.

Referrals to physicians.

STD Outpatient: Identify and treat individuals with sexually transmitted diseases.

AIDS antibody testing and counseling.

TB Outpatient Identification, treatment, and follow-up of tuberculosis.

The health unit offers food training class for food workers at restaurants in the seven counties the unit serves. Food employees at all licensed establishments are required to attend food education training. The training is provided free of charge and includes information on topics like foodborne illness, hand washing, food preparation and pest issues. The food employees must pass an exam to receive a card. The card is good for three years, and all food employees must have a card to work in a licensed establishment.
