The Building and Encouraging Youth Opportunities in North Dakota (BEYOND) program is a 15 week, interactive training program designed to prepare students with disabilities for adulthood.

BEYOND provides students with the training and resources needed to make independent living decisions following high school. Program curriculum involves skills training on topics such as disability awareness, self-advocacy, employment, education, housing, fiscal management, transportation, healthcare, communication, and recreation.

Each lesson is facilitated by Independence, Inc. staff at participating high schools throughout the region.

To advocate for the freedom of choice for individuals with disabilities to live independently through the removal of all barriers.

Fees
The program is entirely grant funded and is absolutely no cost to the students or school district.
Eligibility
youth with disabilities ages 14-22. It is designed to help students in the transition from the secondary school environment to independence in the world of work, post-secondary education, and adulthood.
