What are the goals of BEYOND? BEYOND will help youth with disabilities learn more about themselves as individuals and also assist them in planning for a future full of achievements and happiness. BEYOND will increase the independence of youth with disabilities and help build community connections and support networks. BEYOND will empower youth with disabilities to be self-advocates for their futures. How is BEYOND taught? Our Youth Transition Specialist will travel to schools on a regular basis to meet with students. BEYOND can be taught on a semester or year-long schedule. Meetings are designed to be 45 minutes long. Lessons are interactive; involving energetic activities, discussions, and worksheets. Each student receives his or her own portfolio to keep all BEYOND resources. The program is entirely grant funded and is absolutely no cost to the students or school district.
