Independent children ages 3-6 are encouraged to come to this storytime without their caretakers to listen to stories and make a craft. Approximately 30 minutes.
Children ages 2-5 and their caretakers can come to this story time to listen to stories and build up the skills they’ll need for school.
This story time is for little children ages 0-2 and their caregivers to listen to stories, sing songs, and do finger plays.
Come to the Children’s Library Imagination Station the first Tuesday of every month to practice your reading skills with our READ Dogs! This is for all ages, and patrons can read to the dogs for 15 minutes on a first come first serve basis.
This story time is for families. A special guest will be here to read stories and make a craft, and to help start conversations about community.
This program will be for children grades 2-6 to work together in the community, this month we will meet at Sunnyside School to clean up the neighborhood!
Children 4 years to 5th grade and adults interested in building are encouraged to come create awesome LEGO structures which will be displayed that month!
Here at MPL, we love to play video games with friends! We offer Afterschool Gaming, and on special days off school as well! We have an XboxOne, a PlayStation 4, a Nintendo Switch, and a WiiU! Play one of our games here or bring one from home. E or T games only please.
Bring your buddies and let the board battles begin! On the third Tuesday of every month, we play games all afternoon from 3:30-5:30! Pam and Jess love to play with you and it’s always a great time with friends!
What’s more fun than board games? BIG board games! The Teen library loves to take your favorite board games and make them huge so that your body is your game piece and the game is an immersive experience! This fall look for Life Size Yatzee, One Night Werewolf, and Chutes and Ladders!
Ever want to learn how to 3D design? We have the program for you to learn to create. This fall we’ll be learning to design and revise our own magnets, flexi critters, keychains, and ornaments!
Self-expression and exploration are cornerstones of our Teen library and we offer lots of crafts to allow you try new things and let your true self shine through! The fall, look for Watercolor Posters, Tie-dye Pillowcases, Pour Paint Vases, Creature Eye Keyrings, Teacup Candles, Beaded Turkeys, Succulent Jars, and Soap Making.
We are so proud of our Makerspace at MPL that we want to make sure our teens know all about it! In addition to offering our 3D builds, we will also be doing some programs so that teens learn about other technology available. Look for Snap Circuit Intro, Sphero Bolt Races, and a Poster Party brought to you by the Teen library and the Makerspace!
We love a great movie here at MPL and we have three movies for teens this fall, all on early release from school days! Popcorn is on the house so bring your own drink and your buddies!
If you love reading, and want to meet and discuss with a fun group of people, then you should join us for MPL’s adult book club! This program is for adults 21+. Over the years we have read mysteries, memoirs, graphic novels, YA fiction, and so much more! Books ‘N Brews meet on the first Thursday of every month!
Get in touch with your crafty side! That’s Craftastic is our monthly adult craft program. On the second Wednesday of every month, join Zhaina, our Adult Services Librarian for a fun and easy craft. All adults 18+ are welcome, sign up is required.
Your Minot Public Library is hosting a game night, and everyone is invited! Come to the Minot Public Library on the third Tuesday of every. All ages are invited, but those 8 years of age and under must be accompanied by an adult. Come out to the library and meet members of the Minot Community as you play some fun games.
Calling all movie lovers! MPL’s adult movie night is held every third Thursday of the month. Popcorn and snacks will be provided.
Here at MPL, we know adulting can be hard! That’s why we’re going to help show you how to do it. On the fourth Wednesday of the month, we will make a recipe using an Air Fryer or Instant pot. We’ll also practice and explore a wide variety of skills including how to change a tire, financial literacy, table etiquette, basic first aid, and so much more! Adults 18+ are welcome, teens 16+ must present a signed waiver from a parent or guardian to participate. Registration is required.
