Public access computers have the following software available for use:
Computers in the Makerspace area have special software, including the Adobe Suite of products and other software geared towards the arts.
Public computers and internet access are available to patrons in good standing (patrons without excessive fines/fees or overdue materials). To use a computer, patrons need a library card and PIN. If you do not know your PIN, please inquire at the Circulation Desk for assistance. Visitors without a library card may get a free twenty-minute guest pass once per day. If patrons need longer than twenty minutes a Daily Guest Pass may be purchased for $2.00
In addition to computers for teens and adults, MPL’s children’s library has several computers equipped with games and limited internet access for kids 12 and under. The children’s library also features AWE computers to provide literacy-focused digital learning solutions for early learners.
The Library also provides in-house access to all library databases. These are accessible from the B computers and do not require a login.
Computers are unavailable 10 minutes before the library closes.
A public copier is available for all patrons to access. Black and White copies can be made for $.15 cents per page. Copies can be paid for using change or dollar bills. Public access to printing services is available to all current library card holders or with a computer Guest Pass.
All computer users are given one free Black and White print per day. Additional printing charges must be prepaid by adding value to your library card account or Guest Pass at the Circulation Desk. Unused money that you have added to your library card’s account will remain credited to your library card for future use.
Wireless Black and White printing is now available for a charge of $.25 per page. Not all devices may be compatible with the printer, however. Signing on to a computer and printing your document off from there is still the best way to print.
Scanning (B&W and Color) to a USB storage device, or to a folder accessible to our computers, is available to all Library visitors at no charge.
The Library provides free wireless internet access for those with laptops or other devices capable of receiving wireless signals. The name (SSID) of our wireless network is: LIBRARY. No password is required. Wireless Printing is available. See a Library staff member for instructions on how to add our printer.
