Over the years, NoAH has sponsored many community projects, including mentoring and plantings at Habitat for Humanity homes, the Ward County Historical Society, plantings at the Scandinavian Gardens. They have sponsored and planted Memory Trees for past members and their families; working with the test garden plots at the North Central Research Extension Center and helping our city with their trail cleanup project each spring and fall. One of the most gratifying projects was the creation of the Dr. Charles and Ruth Hoffman Scholarship Fund at MSU, which is awarded each year to a student studying one of the Life Sciences. We provide a monetary scholarship to a horticulture student at Dakota College at Bottineau each year. The monthly meetings generally feature a guest speaker presenting interesting information about various aspects of gardening. Highlighting the summer are visits to greenhouses and local gardens. Meetings are informal, fun, and informative. Mentoring program: Knowledgeable gardeners will mentor amateurs. Master Gardener to Novice, all are welcome! For more information contact an officer of the Association.
