Celebrate National Library Week

National Library Week is here! This year’s theme is “Find Your Joy” and runs from April 19th-25th. This week is an invitation to all to discover everything your local library has to offer and find what brings you joy. National Library Week is an exciting time of year, and we’re celebrating all week long with activities for all ages.

To start things off, we’re bringing some extra joy and creativity by hosting a Spirit Week and we want you to join in! Dress up with us each day and stop by either circulation desk for a small treat. The schedule: Monday-Monochrome Day (wear any 1 color). Tuesday-Pajama Day. Wednesday-Wacky Wear Day (mismatch, inside-out, etc) Thursday-Decade Day (wear clothes from the decade you were born in). Friday-Flannel Day. Saturday-Sports/jersey Day.

Feeling a bit more adventurous? Our new mascot, Blaze the Dragon, is hitting the streets of Minot! Blaze is playing a city-wide game of hide & seek. We will be hiding 12 small 3D-printed dragons around local businesses and public places. Your mission? Get out, explore the city, and find Blaze! Clues to the locations will be posted on our social media pages.

We’ll wrap up the week with a 2-day Friends of the Library Spring Book Sale. Stop in Thursday 4/23 and Friday 4/24 for the perfect chance to stock up on great reads. There will be a members-only pre-sale on Wednesday 4/22.

And to top it all off, pre-registration for Summer Reading opens on Monday the 20th! Get a head start on a summer full of stories, activities, and excitement. Sign up on the Beanstack app.

There’s something for everyone this National Library Week, and we can’t wait to celebrate with you. Come find your joy with us!
