KICKSTART CLASSES BACK IN SESSION!
KickStart is a two hour, one session ‘crash course’ designed to give you the information, resources and motivation you need to quit smoking or chewing tobacco. The classes are held at the Minot office each month. You can learn more by viewing a short video, or click here to view the brochure and registration form, and start getting ready to quit!
Sessions are held once a month (Thursday nights) from 6:30PM – 8:30PM at our Minot office in the South Building.
Freedom from Tobacco: This FREE class is for those who need additional tools and support to quit smoking or using tobacco. Freedom from Tobacco is a free eight week classroom based program looking into different topics regarding cessation. A new session starts every other month. Why this program will make a difference for you: – We take a step by step process to teach the tobacco user to quit. – We cover stress, weight control, and social situations. – You will learn the most up-to-date information on tobacco. – We stay with you for a full month after Quit Day. We use a professionally trained facilitator who understands smokers. – We provide some free patches and samples of gum while supplies last. What do you have to do to attend the class? – Register in advance if possible (but brave last-minute walk-ins are accepted!) – Attend the orientation class – Be prepared to quit using tobacco by Week 4. Quitting Tobacco
No two people are the same, and quitting is not the same for any two people. There are many options ready for you, if you’re ready to quit. Tried before? Most tobacco users try 4 – 7 times to quit before they really stay quit. Remember – don’t quit trying until you’ve quit!
ND Quits provides counseling and support options including web-based, telephone and mobile, and can include a two-month supply of nicotine replacement products. Local options include Kick Start, a two-hour ‘crash course’ in quitting that is held each month.
