The Salvation Army encompasses a range of programs to help individuals and families. These services include rent and utility (energy) assistance, clothing vouchers, medical/prescription vouchers, transportation vouchers, food pantry, as well as our seasonal programs. The seasonal programs consist of Back to School Supplies, Coats for Kids, Christmas Toys and Christmas Food Baskets.
Food Pantry: The Salvation Army food pantry provides groceries for families and individuals in need. We provide food for homeless individuals, transients and an emergency food basket for those in need. The Salvation Army pantry is located at the Corps at 315 Western Avenue, Minot. Application is necessary for assistance. For more information call 701-838-8925.
Rent and Utility Assistance: Limited assistance with rent and utilities, as funding allows, is available at The Salvation Army Corps.
Emergency financial assistance with rent to prevent eviction and emergency financial assistance with utility to prevent disconnects. An application must be completed to determine your eligibility for rent and/or utility assistance.
Seasonal Services -Seasonal services are provided by The Salvation Army according to special and specific needs. The Salvation Army provides backpacks filled with school supplies through the Back to School Program, winter wear for children and teens through Coats for Kids, Christmas Food Baskets and Toys for the Children and much more. The Salvation Army supports our Souris Valley United Way and receives funding through Souris Valley United Way.
Volunteers are considered an important part of The Salvation Army. Many programs depend heavily upon donated time; in fact some services provided to those in need would not be possible without the hours contributed by devoted volunteers.
Volunteers are welcome in these areas:
Food Shelf Helper, Summer & Evening Youth Activity Helper,
Back to School Supplies (August),
Coats for Kids (September – October),
Bell Ringing (November-December),
Christmas Toys & Christmas Food Baskets (December).
