NDAD provides information, referral and advocacy services as well as providing direct financial assistance with personal attendant care, durable medical equipment, home and vehicle accessibility, medications, special services through the Autism Spectrum Assistance Program and out of town medical travel.
NDAD offers a loan program at no charge for individuals to borrow a piece of equipment. Loans can be short or long term depending on the type of equipment and the need of the individual.
NDAD also offers a van with a lift available for loan to individuals in the community who are wheelchair users. The van can be used for out of town medical appointments or for local appointments and/or events. Any out of state trips must be for medical purposes only and be approved by NDAD. The vans are not equipped with hand controls.
NDAD sponsors the annual Escape to the Lake event that gives individuals with physical disabilities the opportunity to waterski.
