November’s Sweater Weather Topic is: Own Voice

If you participated in our Summer Reading Program, then you might be interested to join our Sweater Weather Reading Program. Just like in the summer reading program, you will be able to track the books you are reading on Beanstack and use those to earn chances at prizes.

Each month in the Sweather Weather reading program has it’s own theme. The theme for November is “Own Voice.” Own Voice is a term for a novel or other fiction book that is written about a group that the author shares identity with. Some popular books that qualify for this topic for adults include “The Color Purple” by Alice Walker and “Crazy Rich Asians” by Kevin Kwan. For teens some popular options are “The Hate You Give” by Angie Thomas and “Children of Blood and Bone” by Tomi Adeyami. For Children some popular books include “You Hold Me Up” by Monique Gray Smith and Sumo Joe by Mia Wenjen.
